HOW TO GROW TREE DAHLIA CUTTINGS
1. plant them in full sun with shelter where you don’t have to move them . tubers grow HUGE & deep , and the plants grow 12 and taller and need to be staked or tied back . I plant mine where they can be tied to other trees if needed
2. The older thicker stems near bottom are better for cuttings than younger less woody ones that are prone to rot. make sure you have at least two leaf nodes on each cutting as this is where it will sprout new branches
3. plant them in a trench a few inches deep horizontally instead of vertically, this gives your new plant a stronger base to grow from and will likely sprout two plants instead of one .
4. Put down snail bait and sheep pellets at the first sign of growth as snails will devour them , water sparingly
