Tree Mallow ‘Variegated (Malva dendromorpha variegata)
Malva dendromorpha variegata (formerly Lavatera arborea variegata) | Tree Mallow ‘Variegated’
Upright, shrub-like plant with stout, erect stems and variegated green and white leaves. Hollyhock-like flowers in a soft, delicate, purplish-pink/cerise colour, blooming from late spring through autumn. Plant in semi shade for strong variegation, but keep in mind it will limit the flowering.
An easy low-care plant, in colder areas with heavy frost they can be grown as an annual as they flower the first year if planted early or as a perennial in warmer climates. They can reach 6+ ft but are manageable with pruning. Ideal for container gardening or as a bold specimen in the back of the border.
